Futons are the new sofa beds. Oh yeah! Everyone's talking about it. You no longer have to associate futons as being a low-budget alternative to a "real" sofa, because now futons are much better than a traditional couch. How are they better, you ask? First, they no longer make your butt fall asleep after the first 15 minutes of sitting down. This discomfort was caused by the cotton filling, which compresses and quickly breaks down, found in most old school futons. This problem has been remedied by our revolutionary individual pocket coil springs system. Now you can actually sit down and read a book without being in excruciating pain. In fact, you will be so pleasantly surprised how relaxed you feel on your futon, that you will wonder why you ever considered purchasing a regular old lame sofa. The other benefit of new school futons is the absolute ease of operation. In the past, to change your futon into a bed, you would have to get behind the futon frame and remove these arbitrary pegs and then go back to the front and pull the frame out three inches, then you would have to lift up the mattress and pull a chord. I think you get the idea - it was a royal pain it the butt. Now you simply lift up on the seat section, lightly push forward, release the wall hugging hinge mechanism, and lay it down as a bed. No fuss and no drama. In fact, you will most likely have fun while changing positions. I know I do. In addition to the ease of operation, you now also have a place to store sheets and pillows, because all of our futons come with a hidden section beneath the seat where you can store bedding supplies. Yes they are that cool!

The premise of the speech was to discuss the effects of "persuasion architecture" which basically translates to giving the customer what they want at all steps of the shopping process. The keynote speaker was a man named Jeffery Eisenberg and he recently wrote a book called "Waiting for Your Cat to Bark." During his performance he gave an excellent reminder to the entire audience about the first rule of business - Give the customer what they want.
The example that he used was from the hit film Joe Dirt. The scene is when he meets his new friend who owns the firework stand. If you recall the firework stand only sold snakes and sparklers. To Joe's amazement there are no M80's, no Husker Do's and no Husker Don't's. Joe's new friend goes on to tell him that the reason he does not have any of the more explosive fireworks is because he only likes snakes and sparklers. Joe then tells him that it's not about what he wants - it's about what the customer wants. Such words of wisdom from such a simple man.
It was refreshing to hear Joe remind the audience about the everlasting principles of business. I would invite anyone who happens to read this post to let us know what you would like to see when you visit LUFOX.
It's been some time since our last post. Some time indeed.... We have been rocking out pretty hard over here at the LUFOX headquarters. Life has been full of splendor and wonder. I must admit it was quite nice taking a break from writing furniture descriptions all day. I would compare it to getting stuck in the Small Wonder ride at Disneyland. A hint of pleasantness with a dash of nausea. Seriously, we are happy to be back in the mix and blogging again about modern furniture and life in general.
