Yesterday I attended a conference held by the Utah Advertising Federation. The premise of the speech was to discuss the effects of "persuasion architecture" which basically translates to giving the customer what they want at all steps of the shopping process. The keynote speaker was a man named Jeffery Eisenberg and he recently wrote a book called "Waiting for Your Cat to Bark." During his performance he gave an excellent reminder to the entire audience about the first rule of business - Give the customer what they want.

The example that he used was from the hit film Joe Dirt. The scene is when he meets his new friend who owns the firework stand. If you recall the firework stand only sold snakes and sparklers. To Joe's amazement there are no M80's, no Husker Do's and no Husker Don't's. Joe's new friend goes on to tell him that the reason he does not have any of the more explosive fireworks is because he only likes snakes and sparklers. Joe then tells him that it's not about what he wants - it's about what the customer wants. Such words of wisdom from such a simple man.

It's been some time since our last post. Some time indeed.... We have been rocking out pretty hard over here at the LUFOX headquarters. Life has been full of splendor and wonder. I must admit it was quite nice taking a break from writing furniture descriptions all day. I would compare it to getting stuck in the Small Wonder ride at Disneyland. A hint of pleasantness with a dash of nausea. Seriously, we are happy to be back in the mix and blogging again about modern furniture and life in general.
